New Year's resolutions

I have for the last several years stayed away from resolutions, cause I always break them. This year, it will be different. I am going to make several resolutions.....and I will try my hardest to keep them this year.

1. Go out less, save more money.
2. Send out thank you cards when needed.
3. Keep in better contact with old friends and family.

I think that these 3 are pretty easily obtainable.

What are yours? If you are reading, comment back. It's always fun to see what everyone's are.

Have a wonderful New Years!

Merry Christmas Eve!!!!

Here I sit at work. I got stuck working from 4pm to 8pm today. Not much fun. I am gonna miss Mass. :( Oh well, I need the money. Got lots going on for the holidays. Can't wait to see some family!

Tonight, Steve and I are going (after I get off work) to LaVerne's (my step grandmother) home for a little gift exchange with LaVerne, my Mom, and David.

Tomorrow, Steve and I are going to my mom's for lunch and for the gift exchange with the rest of the family members. I love watching the kids open their gifts. And I can't wait to eat all the food. (Today I made a pumpkin cheesecake and Steve is making a jalepeno corn recipe to take with us tomorrow)

Friday, I will be at work bright and early, as I am opening.

Not sure what the weekend holds, but I am sure that it will be adventurous.

I have changed my personal email address from gmail back to yahoo. I have been having some problems with gmail lately. So please update your address books. ambersimmons24@yahoo.com

Happy Holidays everyone!

The holidays....

As the holidays come up, its always a hard time for my family. We have lost so many family members around Christmas time. This year on December 24, it will be 11 years since my grandmother passed. I still have so many wonderful and vivid memories of her. Christmas Eve is always really a hard day for me. A lot of sadness. I miss her greatly and I still think about her all the time. I can still hear her voice somedays. I still picture her sitting in her rocking chair and reading her books. I love you grandma and miss you so much.

This year, however, I am trying to make the holidays a more cheerful time. I am trying to keep myself positive and in the festive mood. Somedays it works, somedays it doesn't. I will try though.

Last weekend, Steve and I attended a Christmas party with the Pannell family.

This Thursday, is Declin's very first Christmas program. I can't wait to see that handsome little boy, that stole my heart 15 months ago, in his little suit. (pictures will be posted for sure)

This Friday, we are attending a Christmas party at the Hiler (Rachel and Cody) home.

Saturday is the Pat Green/Dancehall Party at Billy Bob's. I can't wait to see Pat Green and all of my out of town friends that are coming in for this!!!!

Sunday, is a Christmas gathering at Kate's apartment. Sunday is also the day that Jeff and MaryAnn come into town for the holidays!!!

So much going on in the next few weeks......and honestly, I can't wait to have a nice quiet relaxing weekend at home, on the couch, doing nothing....with Steve.

Merry Christmas, if I don't post again before then!!!

Old Friends

On Saturday, we met up with some old friends at a Christmas Party. It was so much fun and good to see these people that I normally only see once or twice a year, if that. I even saw a few that I had not seen in 10 or more years. Here are some pics through out the evening (warning: there was alcohol involved lol). The pics came out bad quality for some reason, sorry.

Wow......keep the eyes open!

***I need your help with something***

JP (from Galleywinter) is a friend of mine through Texas Country Music. He lost his job last week, went to an interview this week and came home to his front door being kicked in and everything worth value (including his son's Christmas gifts) were gone! If you could please check out this site and donate what you can.....
