Today has been a sad day for me. Some of you know and others will find out as it spreads through the grapevine/rumor mill. I am doing ok, but could be better. Jeannie and Kate are coming over tonight to have a girl's night and stay with me. We are gonna sit around the pool to drink a few and smoke a few. Things will get better.
So, now, onto the good news.....Jeff (my mom's husband as I was growing up and the man that raised me as his own daughter since the age of 8) and Maryann (his long time girlfriend....seriously, like 12 years or something) called me today to let me know they are getting married!!!!! I am so excited for them and I can't wait until the reception. Many of my friends know Jeff, and this is a great thing for him. The wedding is going to be small and just between the 2 of them on April 1, 2009. The reception will be that following Saturday in Atlanta. I can't wait to start making my travel arrangements. YAY!

My weekend plans - last weekend in Sept, first weekend of Fall
Tonight, I am heading straight from work to Ben and Jeannie's to hang out with Ben, Jeannie, Declin, and my Dad.
Tomorrow, it's get up and clean the apt. Wrap presents. Then I am off to Declin's first birthday party!!!!
Sunday, I will be saying good bye to my Dad before he gets on the plane to head back to Kentucky. Then going to Ozzy and Jon's house to watch the Cowboy game and eat some burgers. That evening, the season premeire of my Sunday shows come on......Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters. I am really excited about that.
I am missing out on April's birthday get together tonight. Hope everyone has a great time. Happy Birthday April. Love you girlie!

1. My laundry HAS to be folded a certain way. If they are not, I can't sleep or concentrate on anything else. This used to drive my ex-husband crazy because he would help with laundry and I would go behind him and refold everything.
2. I am a worrier. I worry about everything. I worry for my friends and family. I worry for myself. I can't help it. I have always been that way.
3. I have a shoe and handbag problem. It's really hard to convince myself that I don't need more of them.
4. I have an extreme fear of midgets/dwarfs/little people. I can't control it. If one appears where I am at, I have to leave and/or get away from them. I know it is silly, but I can't help it.
5. I also have a fear of dumpsters. I am so terrified of taking my trash out and finding a baby and/or animal in there. Same thing was water drains (gutters) on the street. I avoid them at all costs. Thank God that I have curb side trash pick up at my apartments.
6. When I find a song I like, I buy it....online or the CD, etc. I listen to it over and over until I get tired of it. I don't know why, its just what I do.

Karma
ok.....I know I have people out there who read this.........leave me some comments on if you believe in karma or some good karma stories.
Reason for asking, I believe that karma is real. I think that people who do shitty things will eventually get there paybacks in the end. Happy 1st Birthday Declin!!!!
My baby nephew turned 1 today. I can't believe it's been a year. I can't believe the feelings that a little person that isn't even my child could make me have. My nephew, Declin, is my pride and joy and the love of my life. I love you Declin. Happy Birthday baby boy!

weekend update.
my weekend has been great.
Friday night, I relaxed and watched some TV.
Saturday, I cleaned. Shopped. Picked up dad from the airport. Had dinner and hung out at Ben and Jeannie's.
Sunday, Malinda did my hair.....I am blonde again!!!!
Then I had dinner at Ben and Jeannie's again. Watched some of the Cowboys game. Then went to mom and David's to visit for a bit.
Now.....off to bed to start a new week.

plans
On Sunday, Jeannie and Declin came over to see my new place. I set up the pack and play so Declin could have a nap. Taking that thing down was a bitch. Maybe I should hold off having kids until I can work their accessories properly. lol
Monday and Tuesday were pretty uneventful. Tuesday evening, the cable guy came back out to fix the signal to the box. I have cable again!!!! YAY!
Wednesday was dinner with my man.
Thursday was girls night out at Dukes Bedford with Lydia, Amber Lee, Kate, Leah, Jeannie, and Heather joined us for a bit too. It was a great time. Around 11ish, Jeannie and I headed out to Cowboys Red River to meet up with Ozzy for our friend Jody's going away party. Wow......I think I got a little out of control with the drinking. Ozzy ended up driving my car to my apartment and leaving his car at the bar. His car was broken into over night. I feel completely terrible about it. Not much was really stolen, but the window was broken. :(
Friday evening was supposed to be another night out, with Shelby and Lydia at Texas Bar and Grill in Las Colinas. I decided that I can not possibly drink again tonight......so I will be heading home after work to veg out on my couch.
Lots of big events coming up in the next few weeks. Exciting stuff.
My dad will be flying in tomorrow from Kentucky for 9 days. I can't freaking wait!
Declin's first birthday is on Wednesday the 24th. I can not believe he is turning one already.
Thursday the 25th of April King's birthday, Friday the 26th is her birthday party at Dragonfly in Hotel Zsa Zsa.
Saturday the 27th is the day of Declin's birthday party. YAY!!!!!
My dad will be flying back home on the 28th. :(
The next weekend, Oct 3 - 5, I will be going to Shreveport with Nicki. It's been a while since we have gone and I can not wait.

All moved in!!!!
Yep! You read that correctly.....I am all moved in and even completely unpacked. Sometimes my OCD goes into full effect, especially at times like this.
The rain/tropical storm held off while the movers loaded and unloaded my stuff. I am so thankful for that. I can't wait for people to come over and see my new place and all my new things. YAY!!!!
My prayers go out to all of the victims of Hurricane Ike. I know some of my friends are going through some tough times right now. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. My thoughts and prayers will remain with you!

I have spent some time today reflecting on the events of 9/11/01. Such a sad time in our history. Today I am praying for those that lost their lives that sad day, for the families and friends of those people, for our nation as a whole, and for our men and women of military. God Bless the USA!

Today I pick up the keys and sign the lease for my new apartment. For those that have been around for more than a couple of years, you realize what a great accomplishment this is for me. I absolutely can NOT wait!!!!
Speaking of moving into my new apartment, I will be moving during the raining and flooding that we will be getting for Hurricane Ike. The weather forecast is showing rain all weekend.....what fun my move will be. lol
With this hurricane hitting the Texas Coast, I am praying for my friends and family in the hurricane's path. Please please please evacuate if necessary for your safety.
That is all I have for today. I am off work tomorrow, so that I can have my cable and internet set up at the new place.

The weekend of shopping!
Friday night, I hung out with Jeannie and Declin at their house for a while.
Saturday, I was up bright and early to go buy furniture. I bought my couch, chair, ottoman, mattress, box spring, and bed frame. Dropped all of that off at the house and went to a few other stores. Ended up buying 2 dressers (1 with a mirror) and a night stand.
Saturday afternoon/evening was spent hanging out over at Shelby and JP’s for Shelby’s birthday party. It was a blast!
Sunday, was breakfast with Ben, Jeannie, Declin, and Ozzy……then off to more shopping!!! I bought my computer desk and all of my bedding.
The big move is this weekend! I am so excited!
So much coming up in the next few weeks, I feel like I have been running nonstop for months now.
My dad will be in town on the 20th.
Declin’s birthday is the 24th, then his party is the 27th. I can’t not believe he is going to be 1 already. Where has time gone?
October 3rd, I will be going to Shreveport with Nicki.

Hump Day!
Last night was a night of packing, separating clothes I no longer need from the ones I do need, as well as shoes. I am donating a whole SMALL box of shoes. For anyone that really knows me, this is a tragedy for me.
After all of that "fun", I watched the RNC (Republican National Convention, for those unaware).
There were some great speakers, including Laura Bush, George W. Bush, Fred Thompson, and Joe Leiberman. There was also a wonderful tribute to former President Ronald Reagan.
I can't wait to watch it tonight to hear Sarah Palin!!!
I want to end todays blog with asking for some prayers for the Lira Family. Mark, Annette, Kailey, and Katie (as well as the rest of the family).....my prayers are with you in your time of loss.
Also, I would like to wish Kate good luck on an interview she has set up within her current company!!!

Labor Day weekend 2008
So where to start.......
Friday evening, I attended Kate's birthday party at the Republic in Las Colinas. Saw lots of LS2 friends and some friends that aren't members there. Had a great time. Probably drank a little more than I should (which is one of the many reasons I am so glad to have Ozzy in my life, he takes care of me).
Saturday morning, I took Ozzy back to his car, and then off to the house to pack a bag for my evening at Ben and Jeannie's. After a quick trip to Wal-Mart and some cleaning with Jeannie, we were able to get her 28th birthday party underway. I had a blast. Good to see old and new friends.
Sunday, I went home to begin the "relocating of boxes" part of my day. Since I am moving in less than 10 days, I needed to locate all of my boxes that have been randomly stuffed around the house (where ever we could find room to put them). I ended up having to pick up Ozzy from work that evening due to some "medical" problems that he was experiencing.
Monday, Ozzy and I pretty much laid around the house all day. Watched TV, went to pick up some food, watched more TV....you get the idea.
So......now I am at work today and realizing all of the stuff that needs to get done before my big move. EEK!
